The thing about last vestiges is that you hardly ever notice when they are gone. Something once found everywhere and considered absolutely vital, can slip away silently one at a time until they are gone for good. Downtown L.A., like it's people, has a large population of survivors. They tenaciously hold on to their corners bearing the scars of age, abuse and neglect. But if you look, they are still there.

You are so right, Tanner. So this means if you don't have a cell phone, tough luck.
Good metaphor - castoff technology and castoff people.
Don't take the DTN for granted. You can find art in anything there...including the crack zombies!
