B-17

B-17's were the heavy hitters over Europe in WWII. Their losses were some of the highest in WWII. Of the original 1200 pilots and crew, only about 300 survived. B-17's were known to take a lot of damage and still make it home. The photo of the B-17 with the exploded nose made it back to base. The skies were full of these monsters on regular thousand plane raids. Something that must have been unreal to witness... This gets into my head.

Hope you don't mind me commenting, but I have to say this is a very cool blog. It's nice to see someone under the age of 70 who is into WWII stuff. The sight and sound of a thousand of those things must have been surreal.
